Dublin Airport has seen significant development over recent years, especially with the extension of Terminal 1 and the building of a new Terminal 2 facility, due to open in November 2010.

As part of this, the parking for the Bus Station area has been upgraded with Supralite Luminaires and the parking area for the Courtesy Bus area (shown in photograph) has been relocated and Optra luminaires have been installed.

The Optra has the advantage of providing high light levels with good uniformity and wide Pole spacings (which minimise clutter and installation costs). The Optra also has superior glare control and flat glass optics to minimise light spill.

Street lighting around the Airport has also been upgraded with Origin Luminaires and Hanger 3 has recently been refurbished with IL Series HighBays.

The Riverbank area in Kilkenny is one of the most attractive urban areas anywhere in Ireland, with Kilkenny Castle providing the backdrop. The old lighting was recently replaced with a newer modern system of HPS, but with a traditional appearance.

With 8m Heritage Poles, Avonnaise 75 brackets, and Vence Pendant Luminaires with a copper and black finish, the scheme has received much favourable comment. The Project was specified by the Local Authoritity and installed by the ESB (Airtricity).

The Lighting along the main road through the IDA Industrial Park in Waterford provides several functions, namely the illumination of the carpark, illumination of the adjoining road, and illumination of the area between the road and the Building.

Post Top Versions of the Optra were specified by Consultant Engineers VMRA and installed by Kentz. The Luminaire has the advantages of high light levels with wide Pole spacings and also full flat-glass cut-off to minimise glare and light spill.

The Wand can be supplied in Stainless Steel or in other Metals. The Lens can be supplied in frosted or clear Polycarbonate. This Luminaire is now upgraded to operate with LED light sources and colour changing is now an option.

This small Restaurant in Clonmel, County Tipperary had a high ceiling and natural light entered the room from a skylight. The SoftBay Luminaires supplied complimented this as they had acrylic prismatic diffusers throwing light in all directions, but mainly down.

The Softbays can be supplied in Compact Fluorescent and with a dimming system to be controlled by daylight and/or occupancy sensors.

This Playground in Bunbeg, Co Donegal has recently upgraded and new lighting was added. The Optra Luminaires were chosen because each one can illuminate a large amount of space and it was important to minimise the number of Poles. The other advantages were that it has a flat glass cut-off to minimise glare and light spill and being of robust construction, is difficult to vandalise.

The illumination of Playgrounds also reduces vandalism to the rest of the Playground, extends the opening hours and provides added safety and comfort to users.

Ashtown in West Dublin is a new suburb with its DART station and a new town centre as shown. Instead of using a standard road lighting system, the planners wanted to combine the lighting with a Feature.

The Forked Columns provided include some Floodlights for local illumination and give the new centre a distinctive appearance.

This Fluorescent lighting scheme at the FAS workshop in Waterford uses modern T5 electronic lighting.

Unlike traditional (T8) Fluorescents, these Luminaires can punch more light downwards and with no flicker, they are better for eyesight and cause less fatigue and eye strain. Lamp life is an average of 20,000 hours, so maintenance/relamping is also reduced.
