Retail car park lighting can often be achieved with the use of only 1 Luminaire, even in car parks with up to 120 car park spaces, if the Luminaire is suitably efficient.
Using a Supralite Luminaire can illuminate an area of 50m x 50m. Four Luminaires would light an area of 100m x 100m.
This saves on initial costs such as Luminaires, Poles, groundworks and concrete bases, underground wiring/trenching etc, and also ongoing costs such as electricity and maintenance.
Another benefit is the extra space provided by minimising Poles and the general improved appearance from reduction in clutter.
LIDL for example have used high performance Luminaires in many of their carparks (including Clonmel shown). Typically, only 1 Pole has been required in these small retail car parks.
