LED Facade Floodlighting

Recessed LED Ground lights were used to illuminate the Walls of the Trim Castle Hotel, a 4 star hotel, approx 40 minutes west of Dublin. This Project was installed in 2007 and is an early example of LED lighting.

LED Facade Floodlighting has the advantages of low power consumption, long life maintenance, small size and low heat from the Luminaires (which prevents burn accidents if children or animals touch the lens).   The LED Floodlights (or LED Groundlights) above have a narrow beam optics.   For the above Project, the power consumption is 3 watts per Luminaire, so the annual running costs are approx €9 / £7 per year. (The savings would be greater today).

The LED Groundlights are located next to the Wall so there is minimal risk of people slipping on the small glass lens and there is no glare to those passing by. Vandalism is minimised due to the high visability and proximity of hotel as well as the small size and discrete positioning of Groundlights.

LED Facade Floodlighting

LED Facade Floodlighting can also be achieved by LED Floodlights located on the Building or Set back back from the Building in other locations. LED Facade Floodlighting can be achieved with LED Groundlights available with wattages from approx 1w to 40w LED and with many shapes (square, rectangle, round) of Luminaires.
