Playground Lighting

Optra Luminaires were chosen for this Playground lighting project in Bunbeg, County Donegal.   Bunbeg is an attractive tourist village on the Wild Atlantic Way (Atlantic Coastline).  The main advantage is that each Luminaire  can illuminate a large amount of space and it was important to minimise the number of Poles.  Other advantages are that it has a flat glass cut-off to minimise glare and light spill and being of robust construction, is difficult to vandalise.

Good Playground lighting also reduces vandalism and anti-social behaviour to the rest of the Playground, as good light levels tend to deter Vandals.  This also extends the opening hours and provides added safety and comfort to users.

Playground Lighting

The same Product is used for general External Amenity Lighting Projects as well as car park lighting. It is available with LED optics as well as the traditional lamp types.

Examples of Urban Park lighting include Tullamore Town Park, Enniscorthy Town Park, Thurles Town Park, specified by Architects, Local Authority and Consulting Engineers respectively.  Examples of Hospital car park lighting include the Mater Private Dublin, General Wexford, Ballymena Hospital, Ballymun PPC and Mallow Hospital. Retail car park lighting projects include Shankill Shopping Centre Bray, Tesco Westport and Cabra Dublin, Supervalue Ardee, etc.

Photocells are offered as an option to switch the lighting off automatically at daytime, and on at night time. With LED versions, the Luminaires can be connected to Motion Sensors to switch the lighting on only when there is pedestrian movement nearby.  An example of this is Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
